Stipends approved for Vacant EB Positions

The Executive Board has approved stipends for next year for the following EB positions. If you are interested in serving in any of these roles, please contact Debra Stakes at dstakes@cuesta.edu.

Part-Time Faculty Committee Chair
Stipend: $2000.00 per semester
Duties:

  • Participate in meetings of the Executive Board (twice monthly for two hours) to provide direction for the organization.
  • Attend Council of Representatives meetings (monthly) and Membership meetings (once per semester) as an ex-officio, non-voting member.
  • Recruit Part-Time Faculty Committee members, who must be CCFT members in good standing, and present their names to the Executive Board.
  • Present committee goals, program of action, and an income/expense budget for the current or upcoming academic year to the Executive Board.
  • In conjunction with the Vice President, recruit temporary (non-tenured and non-tenure track) faculty members.
  • Survey and report the interests of the temporary faculty to the EB and the Council.
  • Conduct regular meetings of the temporary faculty.

Council of Representatives Co-Chair
Stipend:  $500 per semester for Part-Time Faculty
Duties:

  • Participate in meetings of the Executive Board (twice monthly for two hours) to provide direction for the organization.
  • Attend and preside over all Council of Representative meetings (monthly).
  • After consultation with the President, determine the agenda for all Council of Representatives meetings.
  • Distribute agenda and supporting documentation to the Council of Representatives and Executive Board members at least 72 hours before the meeting.

Part-Time Liaison to the Executive Board
Stipend:  $300 per semester
Duties:

  • As a member of the Council of Representatives elected by the membership of his/her division, attend all meetings of the Council of Representatives.
  • Participate in meetings of the Executive Board (twice monthly for two hours) to provide direction for the organization.

Committee on Political Education (COPE) Chair
Stipend:  $1000 per semester
Duties:

  • Participate in meetings of the Executive Board (twice monthly for two hours) to provide direction for the organization.
  • Attend Council of Representatives meetings (monthly) and Membership meetings (once per semester) as an ex-officio, non-voting member.
  • Recruit COPE Committee members, who must be CCFT members in good standing, and present their names to the Executive Board.
  • Present committee goals, program of action, and an income/expense budget for the current or upcoming academic year to the Executive Board.
  • Secure voluntary contributions to support the political work of the organization.
  • Screen and recommend endorsement of candidates for local, state and federal office to the Executive Board.
  • Educate members on the issues of importance to the organization, its membership, and its clients.
  • Develop programs to promote voter registration.
  • Develop programs to support the election of candidates who support the interests of the membership.

Communications Chair
Stipend:  $1000 per semester
Duties:

  • Participate in meetings of the Executive Board (twice monthly for two hours) to provide direction for the organization.
  • Attend Council of Representatives meetings (monthly) and Membership meetings (once per semester) as an ex-officio, non-voting member.
  • Recruit Communications Committee members, who must be CCFT members in good standing, and present their names to the Executive Board.
  • Work jointly with the Vice President and standing committee chairpersons to assist them in achieving their goals by communicating with the membership.
  • Be responsible for publishing newsletters at least twice each semester which report on the major goals and activities of the committees and the union.
