CCFT Report to the Board of Trustees
CCFT executive Board and the Council of Representatives are discussing the proposal for Cuesta College to move to a 16 week calendar. Although the transition might be challenging the shorter format will align the college better with CalPoly and the majority of other community college Districts. The council of Reps requested a bit more information regarding the specific calendar, the placement of Flex days and holidays, how to calculate the required length of a specific class, and the impact on students and FTES. Once this information is in hand, the Calendar Committee will launch a survey of all faculty to determine whether to move forward.
The Chair of the PT faculty committee has organized a meeting this Friday to discuss potential edits for Article 5 to get ready for March 8.
Half of the CCFT faculty positions are up for re election with the petitions to run do today. We need to elect a new VP a new Treasurer since Mark Tomes is Retiring (in the Board package tonight) and a chair of the PT faculty committee. For the latter, it appears that there might be a contested position requiring an election.
