Overview of Tentative Agreements for Contract Ratification 2025
A Tentative Agreement (TA) is one made between the district and union bargaining teams. The TAs go into effect once they are ratified by the union membership and approved by the trustees. CCFT is presenting the following TAs for ratification with a brief description and link to related documents that include the signed clean TA (pdf) and a redline that shows how the previous version was altered (MS Word).
1. TA 1: Article 5.12.2.2 load limit for PT faculty
Now indicates that the 67% loading rule is from the State Ed code and not subject to local bargaining. Ancillary duties do not count towards 67% rule to maximize what PT faculty can earn.
2. TA 2: Article 5.10 Online Education
Updates language regarding DE courses as proposed by Instructional Designer, DE regulations, and Online Ed Committee. Conforms to current language and practices
3. TA 3: Coming Soon (Article 5)
4. TA 4: Coming Soon (Article 5)
5. TA 5: Article 4.2 PT faculty Health Care program clarification
This clarifies that the requirement is either 4.2.1 or 4.2.2 and not both.
6. TA 6 Article 4.7.1 PT step advancement
Allows lab to count as load instead of units for PT step advancement.
7. TA 7: Article 4.7.3 Cooperative Work Experience load instead of hourly
Changes compensation for Cooperative Work Experience faculty to load instead of hourly pay to be consistent with new Ed Code regulations. Pay for these faculty will increase automatically with salary schedule increases, and mileage is not limited.
8. TA 8: Article 4.8 Faculty travel
SLO County General Service Administration (GSA) per diem rates are generally among the highest in the country, the highest are only $6 per day more than SLO. Current rate is $86 for a full day. See full rates here. Lodging rate is still paid at cost of lodging, not GSA. We’ll never have to renegotiate rates again as GSA is updated each year. This will be easier for staff in Fiscal, too. Same terms apply to all college employees.
9. TA 9: Article 4.9 Split and Dual Mileage
Defines dual assignment and split assignment, Mileage defined now as between sites, not home to site. Reduces need for faculty to submit maps and routes for each trip. District would not budge on including PT in dual assignment.
10. TA 10: Article 7 Evaluation
Major revisions mostly to flow and organization. Adds a meeting between the dean and the DTC after evaluations but before post evaluation meetings to help with consistency. DTC can use that meeting to help the dean understand what the faculty have observed.
11. TA 11: Article 6 Workload Exchange changes
Workload Exchange is now allowable between FT to FT or PT to PT. If PT subs for FT, PT get sub pay at their step and column rate.
12. TA 12: Article 9 Disciplinary Actions
Removes pre-disciplinary hearing requirement and removes confidentiality by employee requirement.
13. TA 13 Article 5.6.4.3 Funding Academic Senate for PT governance/committee work
This is a new agreement. District will provide $5,000 per year to compensate PT faculty for participation in governance/committee work under the discretion of Academic Senate.
